Strategic Market Lead in Environment and Sustainability, Ordnance Survey

Donna Lyndsay plays a key role in advancing the Ordnance Survey’s (OS) mission to be a global leader in geospatial services.

She works collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and customers to deliver location insights that drive positive environmental impacts.

In addition to her role at OS, Donna is the Vice Chair of the Space4Climate group. This group is dedicated to positioning the UK at the forefront of global efforts to create and utilise trusted satellite data for climate action.

Reflecting on her work, Donna stated: “Ordnance Survey (OS) has been working and innovating hard in the sustainability area, which was reflected in our participation at COP28 at the end of 2023. I was able to demonstrate our new monitoring and verification service OS VeriEarth, which is currently accurately mapping and monitoring the health of peatlands in South Yorkshire and will be able to inform and target the future restoration of the site. We are also now working collaboratively with partners across the world to try and bring transparency into global supply chains through the verification of asset location and asset location identifiers. This significant identifier has the opportunity to help get us all to a sustainable place and NetZero”.
